Valley Fog Carpet
A favorite in simple dwellings or monk’s cells, the tsaktup is all simplicity and warmth. It takes up to 23 days for a single artisan to spin and weave this carpet.
Hand knotted carpet from wool playing on the mix of sheep and yak khullu. Four pompoms.

Composition: 20% Yak Khullu, 80% Sheep WoolCare: Tibetans washed their carpets in rivers and let them dry on the pasture. Since this is not always feasible, you have other choices:1)A carpet shampooer, using wool friendly detergent and cold water.2) Spot cleaning with mild, wool friendly detergent3) Putting your carpet on a flat surface, deck or terrace and thoroughly wetting it with a garden hose. Apply wool friendly detergent and scrub it with a brush. Rinse out the soap with the hose and let the carpet dry away from sunlight.
Provenance: Handknotted at Norlha Atelier on the Tibetan Plateau using yak khullu sourced from local nomad cooperatives and wool from Tibetan highland sheep.
