AS LOSAR APPROACHES

As the end of the year of the Monkey approaches to give way to that of the Dog, I think about Losar’s attributes: Though it may be cold outside, Losar is warm to the heart and full of comfort. It means family, gifts, food, fun with friends, good resolutions.

Losar’s colours are many; white for ice, snow and purity, red for religion, blue for the winter sky, tawny yellow for the pasture that promises to turn to green in the coming months.

Though this year’s animal is the DOG, the sheep is always there at Losar, symbolizing renewal and hope, and in Ritoma, they are everywhere!
