YETIS
Spotting one a Yeti rare, and often children out minding sheep and yaks in very isolated spots will see Yetis, and even get to know them. Yetis are not nearly as big as described by European authors or travellers (who may confuse them with brown bears) and live their own lives, mostly not bothering anyone or anything in rocky areas high in the pasture.
The Yeti toys made by Norlha's tailors are modelled on the childhood memories of a Norlha Guard, once well kept secret, until he decided to share them for the sake of his grandchildren. Traditionally, community elders tell the tales found in Tibetan folklore
Hand felted and made with care from 100% yak khullu, these characterful toys make the perfect bedside companions and are designed to be treasured for generations. At Norlha, children are not only our responsibility, but our future, and we hope that one day the atmosphere of skill and creativity that they experience through their parents and grandparents working at Norlha will be passed down – our hope, one day, to inspire them to continue the journey that we began together.
