Fog

At an altitude of 3,200 meters, the clouds are never very far. One often wakes to an obliterated horizon, concluding that the fog will lift and it will be a sunny day. Such mornings can be a difficult time for the nomads, with their animals disappearing in a blur, making them easy prey to wolves, though it mainly happens before they are taken out to graze. In an environment that is anything but subtle, where wind is harsh, cold is biting, and even the summer sun hits hard, burning skin and giving sunstrokes, fog with its soft edge and comforting blur adds mystery and a stillness to the power of the plateau.
